Colin Atkinson

Colin Atkinson, a van driver, was asked to remove his palm cross he had displayed for fifteen years from the dashboard of his Housing Association vehicle by Wakefield District Housing (WDH) following a complaint. Mr Atkinson was under threat of disciplinary action for refusing to comply. However, following intervention by the Christian Legal Centre and national media coverage, disciplinary action against Mr Atkinson was dropped and he was able to continue to display his cross, attached vertically, to the glove compartment of his WDH van.
