Baby's survival challenges abortion limit

Printer-friendly version

A baby born earlier than the upper time limit for abortion has left hospital and been taken home by her parents. Bella Davidson was born at 23 weeks. Abortion is permitted up to 24 weeks (except in cases of disability where babies can be aborted up to birth).

Speaking on the subject, Bella's mother, Vicky, said "I think the abortion limit should be significantly lowered to 10 weeks unless there is a medical reason. Bella shows that babies can survive at 23 weeks old if they are given a fighting chance."
