3 parent baby plans 'flawed' says legal expert

Printer-friendly version

Government plans to allow 'three parent babies' are flawed and vulnerable to judicial review, a legal expert has suggested.

In a written opinion, which has been submitted to parliamentary authorities, Lord Brennan QC says that the proposed regulations are either unnecessary or invalid. MPs are expected to vote on the proposals in the next few weeks. If passed, the UK would be the only country in the world to allow the creation of 'three parent babies'.
