MPs reprimand Ofsted over school probe

Printer-friendly version

MPs have criticised Ofsted for its "slow" response to the Trojan horse scandal and raised questions about the reliability of the watchdog's judgments.

Some Birmingham schools were suspected of imposing a hard-line Muslim ethos in 2013. The chair of the Education Select Committee said that "Ofsted must act to restore confidence in the inspectorate". Ofsted has also come under fire recently for its negative approach to 'Christian-character' and 'Christian-ethos' schools.
