'Assisted dying' proposal defeated in National Assembly for Wales

A motion supporting Lord Falconer's Assisted Suicide Bill has been defeated in the National Assembly for Wales. Just twelve Assembly Members supported the proposal put forward by Plaid Cymru AM Simon Thomas. Twenty-one members voted against with a further twenty abstaining. Lord Falconer's Bill is currently in its Committee Stage in the House of Lords.
