Jailed US Christian released

Printer-friendly version

Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who was jailed after she resisted pressure to issue same-sex 'marriage' licences, has been released.

A federal judge allowed Davis to leave jail but told her that she must not interfere with the issuing of licences by her deputies. A large crowd of supporters gathered outside the jail, including Republican candidate Mike Huckabee. "I just want to give God the glory," said Davis. "His people have rallied, and you are strong people."
