Labour would 'do more to protect Christians'

Printer-friendly version

Shadow Foreign Secretary, Douglas Alexander, has accused the Coalition of 'stepping back, rather than stepping up' to confront 'the evil that is anti-Christian persecution'.

Writing in the Telegraph, Mr Alexander highlighted the International Society for Human Rights' finding that 80% of all acts of religious discrimination in the world are against Christians. He went on to say that a Labour government would appoint a Global Envoy for Religious Freedom 'reporting directly to the Foreign Secretary'.
