PM launches 'counter-extremism' forum

Printer-friendly version

The prime minister has met for the first time with his newly created 'Community Engagement Forum', formed to help counter extremism. Involving around 30 multi-faith representatives, the main focus of Tuesday's meeting was the government's forthcoming counter-extremism strategy.

Last week 50 Christian leaders labelled current proposals a "disaster" for the church, saying that the suggested definition of extremism cast the net so wide "almost anyone could fall into it."
