Underwhelming demand for same-sex ‘marriage’

Supporters of redefining marriage in New Zealand are relying on a boost in tourism to justify same-sex ‘marriage’ which was introduced a year ago.
 
Family First NZ make the claim and say the demand for same-sex ‘marriage’ has been underwhelming with just 318 same-sex couples taking advantage of the new definition – a figure boosted by overseas couples.
 
The campaign group says by comparison there were 19,000 real marriages in the same time period.
 
Bob McCoskrie, National Director of Family First NZ, says: “The whole process has meant that marriage in law has become meaningless and is no longer commonly or traditionally conceived, but conceived by politics and political correctness.”

Meanwhile, the Australian lobbyist, Brigadier Jim Wallace, who led a successful campaign to defeat same-sex ‘marriage’, has emphasised that Christians have to demonstrate to politicians that they are a key constituency.
