9 in 10 workers oppose Sunday trading plans

Printer-friendly version

A survey of retail workers by shop workers' trade union Usdaw shows that 91% of staff at large stores are opposed to the government's plans to relax Sunday trading laws.

The number one reason for opposition was the detrimental effect it would have on family life. Workers also expressed concern about the additional pressure they would come under to work on Sundays.

Please pray for God's design of a day of shared rest to be preserved, for the good of all.
