Dr. Peter Saunders says that abortion is contrary to the aims of medicine

Dr. Peter Saunders tells BBC Merseyside that abortion is contrary to the aims of medicine, in light of the BMA's vote in favour of decriminalising abortion.

"Abortion is contrary to the whole strategy of medicine - it doesn't protect life, it doesn't preserve life... I believe doctors sadly have become its greatest promoters and facilitators, contrary to all the historic codes of medical ethics," he says.
