International opposition to '3 parent babies'

Printer-friendly version

The UK's 'three-parent children' regulations have been attacked by people around the world.

50 MEPs wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister arguing that the move contravenes the EU Clinical Trials Directive and violates "the fundamental standards of human dignity". In a separate letter to the Times, 55 Italian MPs described the plans as a "dangerous intervention". Individuals from over 140 countries have signed this petition opposing the UK's intentions.
