"A pernicious culture of grievance" threatens Christian street preachers

Printer-friendly version

Columnist, Bill Carmichael, has written an article in the Yorkshire Post saying that the case of John Craven (above) is one of a series of similar cases where Christian street preachers have been targeted, including that of Christian Legal Centre client, Tony Miano

Mr. Carmichael writes that far from being extreme, Christian street preachers are expressing “views that were pretty mainstream until very recently and could have been uttered by the Archbishop of Canterbury without arousing any controversy”.

He continues: “But that was before the pernicious culture of grievance and victimhood took such a grip on the nation….. Free speech means nothing unless it applies to people with views divergent to your own.”
